What is this research about?

We are trying to understand what happens when we experience stress. Stress from exercising, stress from work, stress from an argument all affect our bodies in a similar way. We hope to understand some of the other effects that stress might have on our our minds. We also hope to identify different molecules that are related to stress and healthy functioning.

What will I do?

During the study, you will:

  • provide three saliva samples (you spit into a tube)

  • provide three blood sample (just a little finger prick, no big needles).

  • exercise for 15 minutes

  • rest for one hour

  • complete some problem solving tasks on a computer

  • Altogether, the study will take about 3 hours.

Will I be compensated?

Yes- you will be compensated £25 in cash at the end of the study session.
